Submission Guidelines
Why a blog?
The TBR team wanted more room to explore topics that we can’t make time for on the podcast. More importantly, we wanted to uplift more student voices in this current era of remote learning.
What’s the editing process?
Our editors-in-chief will review your submission. If you’re accepted, we’ll send you some edits. Once you respond to those, we’ll additional have editors from the TBR team review. You’ll be published by the third Friday of the month.
What kind of work can be submitted?
The blog focuses on short-form essays. However, any essay format including video, poetry, and anyway other forms of art are fair game, so long as they center social justice!
What can I write about?
Whatever strikes your fancy, with a focus on social justice and identity.
Who can submit?
For now, only Spelman students and alumni. If you have a topic you’re really passionate about, email us and we’ll consider it!
Is there a word limit?
Yes! 600 word or less. Don’t feel pressured to reach this, that’s just the max. We want to give you as much freedom to say what you need!
